I first met Sandra aboout 10 years ago. My husband Phil had completed some work at their house which they were pleased with so took us out for a meal to show their appreciation. Sandra and I hit it off straight away, sharing our love of reading and having similar tastes would exchange books we had read. We started running together and we would put the world to rights. She persuaded me to join Freedom Leisure joining in the group classes and over the years we made many friends. At one point we were doing 7 classes a week and often joked that we saw more of one another than we did Nigel and Phil. For several years in a row we did a Fitmix day at Helenswood raising money for St MIchaels Hospice by trying out new classes. It was during one of these events we discovered a class called Tomboogie and we were hooked. In 2017 we did a 6 hour Tomboogieathon, again raising money for charity. During the pandamic we still managed to see one another as often as we could by meeting up for long walks, again putting the world to rights. She was such a powerhouse and was known as a Duracell bunny or pocket rocket. She could lift heavier weights in the gym than a lot of men. Everyone at our classes are so shocked and saddened at losing such a wonderful, kind and caring lady. I still can't believe that we won't see her smiling face again. On our journeys in the car she would often thank me for being her friend. Well Sandra, it should be me saying to you thank you for being my friend, it was an honour to have known you and we have lost a bright star
